Strengthening the role of the wine cooperative

The Vipava Agricultural Cooperative was founded in 1894 to help farmers sell crops, particularly grapes. It was majority owned by Agroind Vipava but had to sell its shares in 2014. In 2017, the winery was bought by an Austrian buyer and renamed Vipava 1894 ltd. The Cooperative still works with the company as an intermediary for purchasing grapes and informing growers. The main objective is to maintain the existing vineyards throughout the Vipava Valley.
