Establishing an Eco-Region and branding

The European Commission plans to create ecoregions, which are geographical areas based on ecological or agroecological principles and practices. Slovenia aims to increase organic farming by 2027, with organic vineyards currently accounting for 5% of vineyards in Slovenia and 9% in the Vipava Hills. Creating an ecoregion in the Vipava Hills is a way to achieve this goal, which would include sustainable management of resources, healthy food systems and promoting economic and socio-cultural development. The goal is to join international networks and programs for organic farming.
